About me
I remember rocking, walking and bouncing my baby for hours. I tried all the tricks to lay him down without waking up again and the minute I tiptoe out the room, he wakes up and the process would begin again...
I'm Salomé, a Teaching Assistant and Certified Paediatric Sleep Consultant and mom of two boys. I grew up in Mossel Bay, a small sunny coastal town in South Africa, and moved to Germany in 2009 as an au pair, arriving with a suitcase full of hope and curiosity. Building a life here without my familiar support network taught me a lot about navigating motherhood far from home.
I have a soft spot for expat families in particular. I know first-hand how isolating it can be to search for support in a foreign country, and how much it matters to find someone who speaks your language.
Today, I work with tired families around the world using methods that are gentle, evidence-based, and adapted to your baby's age, temperament, and your family's values. Your comfort, your instincts, and your emotional wellbeing are always part of the process, not an afterthought.
Outside of work, I'm a reader who hasn't read nearly enough lately, and a traveller, quietly planning the next adventure.

My own journey...
My first son slept like a dream. From early on he settled easily, slept through the night, and woke up happy. I thought I had this parenting thing figured out. Honestly, I felt pretty confident.
Then my second son arrived and quietly dismantled everything I thought I knew.
He woke every one to two hours, every night, sometimes more. He needed motion to fall asleep, which meant a lot of pacing, a lot of rocking, and a lot of dark hallways at 3am. I was exhausted in a way I hadn't prepared for. The days blurred together. There were moments when I barely recognised myself in the mirror, and even the smallest acts of self-care felt like too much to manage.
The hardest part was that I already knew about sleep. I had read the books, followed the advice, tried the routines. I told myself it would pass. But it didn't.
Eventually, I did something that felt both obvious and difficult at the same time. I reached out to a fellow sleep consultant and asked for help. Having someone to hold my hand, made all the diffrernce. On the first night, my son was sleeping through the night, and I finally felt like myself again.
That experience changed the direction of my life. I trained as a paediatric sleep consultant not because I had everything figured out, but because I know exactly what it feels like when you don't. I know the desperation, the self-doubt, and the relief that comes when things finally shift.
If you are in that place right now, you don't have to find your way through this alone.

“If you’re an exhausted parent looking for someone who will support you without judgement, meet you where you are and genuinely care about your family’s well-being, Salomé is exactly that person.”
